Problem

You are attempting to edit a dashboard embedded Report Title or Description and you receive the error " Error  Failed to save dashboard: CategoryName\DashboardName"

Cause

Neither the Title or description on Reports from the dashboard UI accepts special characters, including numeric characters such as "equals" signs.

Solution

Change your Description or title so that it does not contain a special character
