Configuring Calendar Event Notification Template
Email notification of calendar events may be configured via email templates in ClientSpace allowing for customization of the HTML email. The following document describes configuring an Email Template for calendar event notification. If no calendar event template is published the system will generate email notifications as it always has. For help configuring a calendar event notification template, contact your application specialist.
Step-by-step guide
Calendar Events now utilize a non-triggered Email Template. This Template is used for both Internal and External (to ClientSpace) recipients.
When configuring the calendar event email template the following must be observed:
- Email Template Template Code must be CALEVENT
- Email Template Type must be System
- Email Template must be published
- If Template cannot be located (not published, Template Code incorrect) the default notification format will be used
- Replace fields are available in both Subject and Body
- Template Name, Subject, and Body are all configurable
Consult the following list for available replace fields. These are the only fields available for replacement.
When using replace fields:
Replace fields must be properly formatted and wrapped in curly braces { } to be recognized by the ClientSpace system as data you would like to replace. Fields available for use as replace fields are from the calendar event itself, from the related Organization and from the Contact related to the calendar event. The list below contains a complete list of available fields - when adding replacement fields the following formatting guidelines must be followed:
Event Fields
- Only the field name is required
- e.g. {EventBody}
Organization and Contact fields
- The Type and field name are required, separated by '.'
- e.g. {Organization.Name}
- e.g. {Contact.LastName}, {Contact.FirstName}
