"Type Mismatch" Error When Selecting 'Server Data Proc' On Template Task Dataform Trigger

Application Scope: CORE

Problem

You attempt to create a Dataform trigger on a template task using values returned from the Server Data Proc, but when you select the Server Data Proc under "Field Source" the system returns the error "Type Mismatch"

Cause

No default values are being returned from the Server Data Proc

Solution

When you select the "Field Source" option of "Server Data Proc" one or two the system runs that proc to return a list of available fields for you to choose.  A type mismatch error generally means one of the following has occurred:

  • The server data Stored Procedure is not yet available on your site.
  • The Stored Procedure has not been written to adequately handle running without the default parameters.
  • The Stored Procedure contains code which causes it to return an empty dataset.

The resolution to this issue in all of these cases is to log a case with NetWise via our Extranet, or contact your account manager for help configuring your Template Task.
